Chemistry — Alterations to Rooms 407,408 and 412

Description:

The Chemistry building is located on South Shaw Lane in the Central Academic District. This project involves the renovation of three laboratories on the fourth floor of the Chemistry Building to provide space for fume hoods, a distillation hood, a walk-in fume hood, dry boxes, chemical storage cabinets, and work space for graduate students. The renovation of mechanical systems and all utilities supporting the laboratories will also be incorporated. With the recruitment of new faculty, the Chemistry department desires to update the laboratories to increase capacity and to better accommodate changing research needs.

Timeline: Construction began in August 2008, and will be substantially complete by November 2008, with final completion by November 2009.
